大學(xué)教授渡邊退休后獨(dú)居小屋，每日煮飯、操持家務(wù)，在日復(fù)一日的淡雅日常中，打點(diǎn)自身晚年生活。專注追求學(xué)識的極致，偶有紅粉知己探訪。寫作之余也撰寫遺囑，受邀演講還是堅(jiān)持自己的價(jià)碼。如此尊嚴(yán)又愜意自在的狀態(tài)，卻逐漸浮現(xiàn)健康惡化、關(guān)系崩解等征兆。心緒混亂的同時(shí)，渡邊開始不斷收到同一則詭譎的信息：逃跑吧，北方的敵人即將來到??
